CLUB NIGHTS AND EXTERNAL SHOWS AND DEMONSTRATIONS

Slips, trips and falls can be dangerous so only use designated walkways, corridors and stairways when accessing and egressing classrooms and demonstration areas.

The practising of our art involves the use of sharp instruments including, hooks, blades, sharp scissors, needles, bobbins etc. Great care should be taken when using the tools and materials to avoid cuts, stabs, scrapes and the like. Once a session has been completed, please ensure all work area’s including the floor are clean and free from sharps to avoid any risk of injury to following users and in particular the classroom used on club nights as the following users are children.

Always be aware of your responsibility for the health and safety of yourself along with that of others ie fellow club members, speakers, demonstrators and the general public in behaving in a safe manner and not engaging in any “tom foolery” which may be of detriment to your self and/or others.

Be sure you fully understand any fire procedures in place at the location, if in any doubt, liaise with the organisers of the event or WFD committee members to advise you of same. In all instances, be aware of the escape procedure, escape exits, assembly points and location of fire fighting equipment. NEVER attempt to tackle any fire if you are not conversant with the correct procedures and if an attempt to dowse the fire infringes on your safety or that of others.

Care in lifting and carrying should be exercised when erecting and securing pergolas or marquees and setting up any displays. Fly tying demonstrations should be arranged bearing in mind the safety of the public as well as the members, in particular when members of the public are participating in any of the activities provided.

Please do not forget that we are a sociable club dedicated to furthering the art of fly dressing to all our members, guests and the general public. We are all out to enjoy and express ourselves in the art of fly dressings and enjoy each others company and that of the general public. So to further that enjoyment…………………………………………

ENJOY AND BE SAFE.
